CONSIDER THE CONVERSATION: FACING THE END OF LIFE
Unity’s Love University Presents
Consider the Conversation: Facing the End of Life
Tuesday, February 7th at 7pm in the Sanctuary
With Rev. EvaMarie Ireland
This is a remarkable, thought-provoking 45 minute film that opens the floodgates of thought and conversation on this most difficult and often taboo subject.. The movie will be followed by a short discussion on “How to Be with Loved Ones” during the time of their transition. To journey with another during this time can be a very sacred and a holy time when one is prepared. This evening is a time set aside to look at these delicate issues, a time to create a space to simply explore, think about and share together.
Rev. Eva Marie Ireland is an ordained Interfaith Minister who has her Masters in Humanities and a Bachelor in Health Education and Health Promotion. She has worked in hospitals, nursing homes and hospice settings since 1973 in different capacities. As a board certified Chaplain, she has journeyed with others during times of transformation and transition. EvaMarie has practiced meditation and prayer for many years to support her in her work of being present to Spirit, as she assists others through their challenging times.

No one really knows for certain what will happen on December 21, 2012. What we do know is this: the date given for the ending of the Mayan Calendar is an agreed-upon date offered by scholars, shamans, psychics, and investigators. What rings with greater truth is a time-frame, a span of some years between the rapid acceleration of energy throughout the universe, the results of that acceleration, and the radical shifting of "life as usual" afterward. The Great Shifting itself refers to the turning of the Cosmic Year (happens about every 25,920 years), to the next cycle of Creation's Great Story (sometimes termed "The Grand Spiral of Remembrance"). The ending of the Mayan Calendar is part of this story, but only part of it.
This talk will be presented in two sections. The first focuses on giving the Mayan Calendar another look and recognizing that it really is not a calendar per se, but is rather a device used to track the development of consciousness in the earth plane. We will compare Mayan time cycles with what Theosophy tells us, augmenting that with several other spiritual traditions. We will also take a good look at the astrological factor, entering the dark portal, rhythms and timing, as well as what is happening now.
The second part concerns the Fifth World, what we are now entering, with the ascension and rise of the Fifth Root Race (our new children, which includes many of us, not just kids). This movement into the Fifth World is like a birthing, where we are all swept into new and different environments. Does the world end? No, it does not. But our world, the way we have been living, does end. There are no innocents in this shift, and no exceptions. We are changing, all of us. The new world spreading out around us is as incredibly exciting and wondrous, as it is fearful and terrifying. Comments from the audience are welcome.
